About Jodi LaMothe

- Foremost: I’m Jodi LaMothe, a published APA researcher, educator, and crisis prevention strategist who’s just as dedicated to decoding school shooter manifestos as I am decoding my daughters' attitudes. With a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Innovation and two Master of Science degrees in psychology (general and industrial-organizational), I have spent the last 15 years exploring the intersections of emotional intelligence, crisis leadership, and behavioral intention. My latest research, Decoding School Mass Shooter Manifestos to Predict Behavior: A Theory-Based Qualitative Study, was published by the American Psychological Association. As a school safety expert, I help organizations and leaders identify red flags before they make headlines. I’ve also been known to turn my YouTube videos into a TED Talk when inspired by coffee.
- Additionally: I believe that understanding behavioral intention is crucial; being able to see warning signs can help predict what will happen next. My motto? From “No” to “Now.” I pray a lot, laugh more, and believe in a divine right to side-eye people who don’t return their shopping carts.
- At Last: I do believe in Jesus, seatbelts, and that school gates should be locked. I’ve got a husband named Anthony, two great kids, two quirky dogs, and an Ed.D. diploma that occasionally doubles as a very expensive paperweight.
